BODIES OF TWO QWAQWA HUNTERS WHO WENT MISSING FOUND ON SEPHOKONG MOUNTAIN

The bodies of two men, Sello Khala and Fana Nale, who were reported missing from Lusaka Village in Qwaqwa, have been found on the top of Sephokong Mountain after a thorough search and rescue operation.

The two men disappeared on Sunday, 9 August 2026, after going on a hunting trip at Hatsoanyana Farm with friends.

While crossing Sephokong Mountain, the group got separated due to thick, misty weather.

One friend managed to find his way back home safely, but Khala and Nale did not return.

After the families filed reports, a multi-disciplinary search team was immediately organised.

On Friday, 14 August 2026, around 12:30, search teams discovered the body of 38-year-old Jerry Kgala (Sello Khala), deceased on the mountain.

Despite the challenging terrain, the Search and Rescue team continued their persistent efforts.

On Monday, 24 August 2026, team members successfully found the body of the second victim, 22-year-old Lefa Nale (Fana Nale).

Both families have confirmed the identities of the deceased.

Post-mortem examinations will be carried out to ascertain the precise cause of death for both men.
