A 43-year-old woman is set to appear soon before the Koffiefontein Magistrates’ Court on an attempted murder charge.

This follows allegations that she stabbed a 45-year-old woman multiple times with a knife after an argument at a tavern in Koffiefontein.

It is reported that on Sunday, 11 October 2026, the victim, Magdeline Mokoaledi, was sitting with two friends at a popular drinking establishment on Ntsane Street, Ditlhake Location, Koffiefontein, when the suspect, who was well-known to her, arrived.

An argument broke out between the victim and the suspect, leading to a physical altercation.

Bystanders intervened to stop the fight.

The suspect allegedly went home to retrieve a knife and returned to attack the victim.

The victim suffered stab wounds to her left shoulder, left breast, and right side of the chin and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The suspect was arrested on Tuesday, 13 October 2026, and charged with attempted murder.
