A 20-YEAR-OLD MAN IS SCHEDULED TO APPEAR IN ZASTRON MAGISTRATE'S COURT ON CHARGES OF MURDER

Authorities in Zastron are probing a murder case.

This follows an event that took place near Early Birds Tavern in Itumeleng Location, Matlakeng in Zastron around 13:30 on Sunday, 12 July 2026.

A 20-year-old suspect from Phomolong Location, also in Matlakeng Zastron, has been apprehended and will soon appear in the Zastron Magistrate’s court.

On Sunday, 12 July 2026, while on duty, members of the Visible Policing Unit received a report from the Zastron SAPS Community Service Centre about an individual allegedly being stabbed.

The victim had already been taken to a local hospital by relatives.

The report was initially received from a nurse at the hospital.

When police arrived at the hospital around 14:30, they spoke with the attending doctor, who informed them that the 27-year-old victim, Kamohelo Thuso, who lived at the same address as the suspect, had been brought in by his family.

Upon examination, the doctor found no signs of life, and he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Initial investigations resulted in the suspect's arrest.

The motive for the murder is part of the ongoing investigation.
