On Monday, 16 March 2026, Advocate Siseko Leonard Cengcani (55) from Cengcani and Associates, Tshadi Annah Molelekoa-Taso (44), Nomalizwe Brenda Nkwane (45), and Nontsikelelo Grace Mkololo (41) were detained by the Hawks' Serious Commercial Crime Investigation team in Bloemfontein on charges of alleged fraud.
The suspects appeared in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court the same day.
Allegations suggest that in 2020, complainants responded to property ads in the Express newspaper from entities such as Blue Print Corner, QST Trading, Anti-Poverty, and Senothesha.
The complainants reportedly viewed these properties with an agent and entered into purchase agreements.
They were given banking details and instructed to deposit money, with assurances of occupying the properties within three months.
However, after payments were made, the complainants neither received the properties nor any refunds.
A criminal case was filed and referred to the Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation Unit in Bloemfontein.
The investigation found that the properties were never actually for sale, making the transactions void.
The complainants experienced a total financial loss of approximately R1 135 000.00.
The suspects were denied bail, and the case was postponed to 18 March 2026 for a formal bail application.
The suspects remain in custody.
