The Bloemfontein Regional Court has imposed fines totalling R7 million on Glen Crouch (37) and Simon Cornelius Botha (52) for fraud involving Standard Bank and WesBank.

On Monday, 17, Crouch was found guilty on 19 counts of fraud and sentenced to 10 years in prison, with four years suspended for five years.

Botha was convicted on two counts of money laundering and received a two-year prison sentence, fully suspended for five years, along with an additional 36 months of correctional supervision.

The accused were part of a group apprehended by the Hawks in February 2020.

They allegedly secured fraudulent bank loans, overdrafts, and vehicle financing.

This was facilitated by Mosa Tseleli (42), an employee of Standard Bank and one of the accused.

Tseleli, along with Christal Arendse (41), Eagen Moses (39), and Gilbert Rousseau (46), is scheduled to return to court on 8 December 2025.

Another accused, Chelleroy Floyd Buys (43), was convicted in September 2022 and sentenced to 12 years in prison, with the sentence suspended for five years and 12 months of correctional supervision.

Buys was also ordered to repay R300,000.
