POLICE QUICKLY APPREHEND SUSPECT ACCUSED OF THE ALLEGED BRUTAL MURDER OF AN UNIDENTIFIED WOMAN

The Free State Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thabang Lesia, has expressed approval of the rapid arrest of a 29-year-old suspect from Kudumane Village, QwaQwa.
The suspect was found hiding at a relative's residence in Bluegumbosch less than a day after the alleged brutal murder of an unidentified woman.
The arrest followed an incident where the suspect allegedly stabbed and set the woman on fire inside a shack near Setsing Shopping Complex in Phuthaditjhaba on the evening of Saturday, 25 July 2026, witnessed by an eyewitness.
The suspect is scheduled to appear in the Phuthaditjhaba Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, 29 July 2026, facing a murder charge.
Police are urging the community to help identify the deceased woman, estimated to be around 27 years old, to locate her family and next of kin.
