Bethlehem Serious Corruption Investigation detectives are looking for victims of a housing scam.
This comes after a Bethlehem-based brokerage, Blue Key Properties, is alleged to have lured potential home buyers through an advertisement in a local newspaper.
Petrus Wilhemus Viljoen, 57, and Kamolase Sammy Mofokeng, 47, were arrested on a warrant on 30 August 2025.
They have already appeared in the Bethlehem Magistrate's Court for fraud, where they were denied bail and the matter was postponed to 17 November 2025.
Upon showing interest in buying, victims were taken to houses in Bethlehem and Phuthaditjhaba for viewing, after which they would sign and deposit money into the accused's bank accounts.
They have neither received house keys nor a refund.
In some instances, the same house would be sold to several buyers.
A few victims were sold houses belonging to deceased persons or houses left vacant after the owners relocated.
These victims are facing evictions as the executors and house owners never received their money.
Thus far, 66 victims have come forward.
Anyone who might have fallen victim to this scam is urged to call Detective Warrant Officer Dudu Mocware of the Hawks on 079 505 3288.
